New Physical Therapist at ActiveCare Physical Therapy
Dominika Piestrak originates from Krakow, Poland. She graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy from Jagiellonian University in Poland. Dominika has lived in multiple cities and worked in numerous areas of expertise in her pursuit of a broad range of training. Her professional career started in Paris in an orthopedic private practice where she was trained in the treatment of Scoliosis (TGS 3D). Dominika then pursued advanced clinical education at Kaiser Permanente hospital in California. She completed a Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Reeducation residency program which focused on patient care post stroke, brain injury, and other neurological conditions.
Dominika’s treatment philosophy is guided by an exploration of how a patient’s unique body structure/composition is connected to their presenting condition. She combines manual therapy (Maitland, Cyriax and the Mulligan approach) and neuromuscular reeducation with specific therapeutic exercises to help her patients achieve optimal results. Her personalized and holistic approach results in a well-tailored plan for every patient’s unique needs.
Dominika resides in New York City where she specializes in orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation. She enjoys traveling, exploring New York City, and staying active. Her goals are to attain board specialization in orthopedics and a certificate in orthopedic manual therapy through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars.
